ILO

To 1.280 km of the city of Lima is the city of Ilo, Ilo is the main port of the Department of Moquegua, it counts on a calm sea and I lavish, and with one it prospers fishing industry.

A 1,280 km de la ciudad de Lima se encuentra la ciudad de Ilo, Ilo es el principal puerto del Departamento de Moquegua, cuenta con un mar tranquilo y prodigo, y con una prospera industria pesquera.

n this locality one is located the great plant of copper smelting of the mines of Cuajone and Toquepala that are located in the departments of Moquegua and Tacna respectively, between the 3.000 and 3.500 meters on the level of the sea. The operations are in charge of Southern Peru Copper Corporation, the main copper producer of the country, both mines are operated by the system of opened edge, the mine of Cuajone is considered like one of but the great ones of the world.

The present city this located in great bahia that closes in end of Coles to the southwest and end of Chocolate towards the north, with a low coast, without great cliffs.

En esta localidad se encuentra ubicada la gran planta de fundicion de cobre de las minas de Cuajone y Toquepala que están ubicadas en los departamentos de Moquegua y Tacna respectivamente, entre los 3,000 y 3,500 metros sobre el nivel del mar. Las operaciones están a cargo de Southern Peru Copper Corporation, el principal productor de cobre del país, ambas minas son explotadas por el sistema de tajo abierto, la mina de Cuajone es considerada como una de las mas grandes del mundo.

La ciudad actual esta ubicada en la gran bahia que se cierra en punta de Coles al suroeste y punta de Bombon hacia el norte, con una costa baja, sin grandes acantilados.

Center of civic activities, to only 2 blocks of the public square and the coastal levee; a sink in form of fan shell shines.
PLAZA DE ARMAS DE ILO
Centro de actividades cívicas, a sólo 2 cuadras de la glorieta y el malecón costero; luce una pileta en forma de concha de abanico.

TEMPLE OF SAN GERONIMO
Constructed in 1871 in wood and calamine coating, today remodelado and it is extended. It has one old baptismal battery constituted by a marine shell, brought from Paris. It consists of a single ship of rectangular plant, with a choir high and symmetrical facade that finishes in a central tower with one slight curvature in the closing. The ceiling has structure of tijeral of wood, with calamine cover. Llama attention one of the three bells of the bell tower, that has been to engraving year 1647. The internal walls of the church were decorated with paintings with reasons for plants and angels, of whom some samples are conserved, specially in the corners and the superior socle.
TEMPLO DE SAN GERONIMO
Construido en 1871 en madera y revestimiento de calamina, hoy está remodelado y ampliado. Posee una antigua pila bautismal constituida por una concha marina, traída desde París. Consta de una sola nave de planta rectangular, con un coro alto y fachada simétrica que termina en una torre central con una leve curvatura en el remate. El techo tiene estructura de tijeral de madera, con cubierta de calamina. Llama la atención una de las tres campanas del campanario, que lleva grabado el año 1647. Las paredes internas de la iglesia estuvieron decoradas con pinturas con motivos de plantas y ángeles, de las que se conservan algunas muestras, especialmente en las esquinas y en el zócalo superior.

ILO CASA
Constructed in century XIX, they characterize by its architecture of double ceiling mojinete, ample rooms and facades of great inner doors and large windows, between which they emphasize: Gambetta set, House Zapata, Valdivia House, Segovia House, Malatesta House, Zepita Set, K'arletty House, Jiménez House of the Flower, Marry Vásquez and Casa Koctong.
UNA CASA DE ILO
Construidas en el siglo XIX, se caracterizan por su arquitectura de techo de doble mojinete, amplias habitaciones y fachadas de grandes portones y ventanales, entre las que destacan: Conjunto Gambetta, Casa Zapata, Casa Valdivia, Casa Segovia, Casa Malatesta, Conjunto Zepita, Casa K'arletty, Casa Jiménez de la Flor, Casa Vásquez y Casa Koctong.

SEAT MIGUEL GRAU
In this photo the Seat is appraised Miguel Grau, can be seen the monument Grau upon one talks back of the prow of the Huascar. To the flank of this seat is the Billinghurst Seat.
PLAZA MIGUEL GRAU
En esta foto se aprecia la Plaza Miguel Grau, se puede ver el monumento a Grau encima de una replica de la proa del Huascar. Al costado de esta plaza se encuentra la Plaza Billinghurst.

ARTISAN FISHING BOATS And BOLICHERAS
In a first plane some boats of artisan fishermen are appraised. To the bottom and the Left (confused between towing boats), some bolicheras boats are appraised.

En un primer plano se aprecian algunas lanchas de pescadores artesanales. Al fondo y a la Izquierda (confundidas entre lanchas remolcadoras), se aprecian algunas lanchas bolicheras.
