THE ICA DESERTS

The climate of the Department of Ica is tempered and desert, the atmospheric humidity is high in the coast and diminishes towards the interior. Annual the 15 precipitations are little and normally inferior to m.m.

Single exceptionally rains of great intensity, but of short duration take place and that have a extrazonal origin. In the sector of the mountain range rains are seasonal and of greater intensity.

Absolute the maximum temperatures reach 32.3°C in Ica and 27.4°C in Pisco. And minimas absolute 9.8°C in Ica and 12.6°C in Pisco.

The insolation is high in the deserts of Pisco, Ica and Nasca. The Paracas wind, is a marine breeze of great force that blows in the zone of Pisco - Paracas and that contributes to clear the sky of these areas and the contiguous deserts.
