THE MALE TRAIN

This railroad that unites the towns of Huancayo and Huancavelica, was planned to unite Huancayo and Ayacucho, taking as it bases the longitudinal line of the mountain range. But, by decision of the then Minister of promotion, Celestine Manchego Muñoz, the route was turned aside to Huancavelica in order to fortalezer the mining operation of the zone of Huancavelica.

The construction of via ferrea of the Male Train beginning in the year of 1.908 and had been culminated in the 1.926, after several interruptions to traves of 18 years. Throughout his 128 38 km it crosses tuneles and 15 bridges.

The name of the Male Train, must to its impuntualidad, according to they write down the huancavelicanos "it left when it wanted and it arrived when it gave the desire him or when it could".
