RECUAY


Descending from the heights of Conococha the first city of the beautiful rosary of towns of this valley of dream it is Recuay, which is located river Santa on the brink of madness, to 3422 msnm, is the capital of the Province of the same name; law 11326 of the 14 of April of 1950 was created by decree.

Until nowadays Recuay it maintains his style colonial, with his aged large houses put in with simple constructions, with walls of mud and ceilings of roofing tiles.

Its seat of arms shines a classic battery in elcentro, surrounded by grates. From the majestic Jerusalem hill is observed there in its left part and the eucalyptuses and cypresses can be admired that engalanan this city.

Recuay Posee the mineral water and thermal of Conococha, Ucuschaca, Pachacoto, Pumapampa, Towns and Utuco. The lagoons of Querococha and Conococha are within the limits of the province, like the magnificent forest of Puyas Raimondi - taking the deflection towards Carp -, and the grotto of San Francisco, geologic volcanic rock formation with beautiful stalactites.

There is also a hard road that it unites Recuay with Aija (the native Earth of wise person Santiago Antúnez de Mayolo), for which is had to ascend by the Black mountain range, crossing this one by Huancapetí to 4000 msnm, soon to descend towards the own city of Aija.

To 25 km of Recuay, penetrating in the alley, one is the city of Huaraz, capital of the department. To both sides of the highway asfaltadahacia Huaraz repeats a granvariedad of typical landscapes untiringly. Of the Bedoya(km bridge 183) it divides on the right a way for Olleros and Huaripampa, and more and more journeyed long walk for Chavín.
