THE LLANGANUCO LAGOON


In fact one is not the Lagoon of Llanganuco, is the lagoons of Llanganuco, although also podria to say the Gorge of Llanganuco which is famous by the lagoons that in her are.

The lagoons of Llanganuco are two and they are to 25 km to the northeast of the city of Yungay (to 45 minutes in car).

The lagoons Chinancocha and Orconcocha are within the National Park Huascarán and are born of the snow-covered defrosting of the Huascarán, Huandoy, Pisco, Yanapaccha and Chopicalqui.

The lagoon of Chinancocha or "lagoon female" practically is on the foot of the Huascarán and it characterizes by the intense turquesa green color of his waters and the dense forests of queñua that grow in their borders.

The other lagoon, smaller and denominated Orconcocha or "male lagoon", is located at the end of the valley glacier and their waters are of celestial color.
